Position Summary: FKB is looking to hire a full-time Designer to assist with the architectural, interior, industrial, and experiential design process per the client’s wants and needs and at the direction of the Director of Design and Prinicipal (Design). The Designer will focus on generating schematic designs and presentations as well as the construction of virtual environments using a variety of programs. This position will also collaborate with team members creatively, efficiently, and with a high degree of attention to detail in order to deliver fully rendered designs per client and Leadership specifications.

Duties and responsibilities
Drafting construction design documents and schematic design documents for various clients and projects; Parallel processing multiple jobs at one time, all at the direction of the Design Director
Assist with coordination and logistics for design, which may include assisting the Fabrication team with design feasibility
Assist with concept and design development/strategy per client wants and needs, but also within the constraints of realistic fabrication and installation
Generate floor plans of existing conditions
Generate presentation renderings
Prepare zoning and construction documents for permit process
Collaborates with Design Engineering to generate shop drawings and case work details
Prepare presentation documents for both client and community
Conduct background research for early development design concepts on clients, products, industry, and anything else relevant to the design request
Collaborate closely with business development to create pitch decks and other materials for client and project presentations
Assist with material selection for client review
Assist Architectural Designer to facilitate code review, and other assisting tasks as necessary
Site survey for documentation of existing conditions for projects
Shop drawings for shop team to have accurate dimensions to build; Being accountable for these dimensions and sizes
Revit, Auto Cad, Rhino, Sketchup and other Auto Desk applications in order to generate concepts, construction documents and other documentation
Adobe Suite in order to manipulate graphical documents
Material mockups and sample gathering for client presentation and review; Establish relationships with product representatives in order to receive finished samples. This includes coordinating with clients for finishes and other design details.
Responsible for line work documentation that is being sent to clients, for example: 2D images, floor plans, ceiling plans, etc.
Responsible for picking up CAD redlines
Other additional duties and functions may include:
Submitting drawings to City (or relevant municipality) for permits per Architectural Designer’s request, and running other relevant errands
Digital Fabrication as needed, such as 3D modeling and 3D printing as well as creating scaled models, as appropriate.
Assist in correspondence between clients when needed
Working in Unity and Maya, animation work, and development of virtual environments
Other duties as assigned by the Design Director, Architectural Designer, members of the business development team, and/or the CEO
Qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science in Architecture or Bachelor’s of Architecture required
Minimum professional experience of at least 2-3 years
Auto Desk and Adobe platforms software experience required
Rendering software experience required, such as V Ray or Lumion
Rhino software experience required
Gaming experience, either as a designer or gamer, strongly preferred
Experience with Virtual Reality platforms and devices, even as a user, strongly preferred
Google Suite, especially Presentations, required
Microsoft Office, and general office software a plus
Grasshopper experience preferred but not required
Able to produce quality construction and permit drawings, architectural drawings
Able to communicate clearly and professionally to internal teams, clients, and vendors
Able to concisely document communication with clients and manage their expectations
Able to clearly communicate and effectively collaborate with other consultants/subcontractors
Ability to pivot into different projects that are in different stages/phases
Fine and close attention to detail
