Job Details for Junior Fabricator
Summary: FKB is looking to hire a Junior Fabricator as an entry-level member of the Fabrication Team to assist in all aspects of fabrication on the shop floor. It is a role designed for someone taking their very first steps on the path to becoming someone that makes things for a living, in a professional setting.
The main responsibility of a Junior Fabricator is to learn and implement all the skills and processes of the Fabrication team to become a fully vested Fabricator for the company. During the course of employment, they will learn shop etiquette as well as how to read and interpret drawings. Most importantly, Jr. Fabricators will take directions from senior members of the Fabrication Team, including Fabricators, Lead Fabricators, and the Director of Fabrication.
It will also be the Junior Fabricators' responsibility to help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop, resetting the shop floor on a daily basis. The Jr. Fabricator will also work with the team in a support role on installations, maintenance, and any other task within the purview of the fabrication team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Consistently following instructions from more senior members on the fabrication team
Learning how to properly use tools to achieve professional results, in a safe manner
General upkeep and maintenance of all shop tools and equipment
Painting and finishing work, as needed
Learning to identify and properly manipulate a wide variety of materials for specific projects\
Holding or being willing to train to a minimum OSHA 30 certification and adhering to OSHA standards, and all other safety and operations standards, including Company policies and procedures
Assisting with the installation of projects on site
Broad duties of Jr Fabricator include:
Carpentry
Metalwork
Material management
Finishing
Shop organization
Cleaning
Other tasks needed for specific projects
Other duties, as assigned

Ability to work late nights and weekends, on the rare occasion it’s necessary to meet a project or deliverable deadline
