Job Details for Project Manager

Summary: FKB is looking to hire an experienced Project Manager to oversee large, complex projects in the design and/or fabrication areas of the company. This position will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of various simultaneous projects while ensuring budget adherence, timeliness, accuracy, and quality of work. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience in the management of large projects—preferably in experiential design or installation or in a manufacturing or construction environment. This role is full-time permanent beginning ASAP; pay is commensurate with experience. Please include a cover letter, resume, and at least two professional references.

RESPONSIBILITIES | ACCOUNTABILITIES

The job responsibilities of our Project Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Scheduling personnel for multiple, dynamic projects

  • Project planning and budgeting with profit and loss responsibility while monitoring the budgets for multiple projects, often simultaneously

  • Focuses on the coordination and management of client related projects; Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget

  • Material take-offs; quantity, pricing, and sourcing of all material orders

  • Liaise with 3rd party vendors for outside fabrication and material procurement

  • Coordinate with the Director of Fabrication and Production Coordinator(s) to develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress

  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques

  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals

  • Managing quality control of projects; Monitoring fine details to ensure that what was promised to client during the business development stage is being upheld

  • Coordinate with Leads for estimation, responsible for ensuring the estimation process is complete and accurate

  • Responsible for setup and execution of schedule by coordinating with Director of Fabrication and Project Coordinators for scheduling of projects through the shop

  • Communicating slippage to Management and coordinating communications to the client

  • Ability to hold professionalism and confidentiality at all times, particularly when interfacing with clients

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and problem solve by pivoting to solutions quickly

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to lead and work within multi-functional teams to achieve short and long term strategic goals

  • Proven ability to work independently to produce high quality results within tight timeframes

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience / Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years experience in the management of large projects—preferably in experiential design or installation or in a manufacturing or construction environment

  • Shop or fabrication experience strongly preferred

  • Experience managing large budgets

  • Experience with complex scheduling and adhering to tight deadlines

  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent interpersonal skills

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills

  • Well-organized, punctual, and has great time management skills

  • High attention to detail and problem solving

  • Strong planning skills

  • Must have a high degree of initiative, be a motivated self-starter, have a flexible attitude and be able to adapt to a changing environment

  • Must be forward thinking as it pertains to the logistics of the project

  • High degree of integrity, energetic, and have an upbeat attitude

  • Strong work effort, detail-oriented, and self-starter
