Sun-Maid Raisin House

Experiential Design, Fabrication, Installation
Merchantville, NJ
Halloween 2021

In October of 2021, FKB collaborated with a number of local artists (including M.K. Komins), Quench, and Sun-Maid to bring a harrowing experience to trick-or-treaters in Merchantville, NJ for Halloween. Known as the Sun-Maid Raisin House, this interactive installation invited kids of all ages to tour the haunted halls of a classic Merchantville home overrun with Sun-Maid raisins, which many consider “terrible Halloween treats” (compared to candy). However, this innovative experience sought to turn that concept on its head by making these raisins the haunting star of the Halloween show.

Featuring custom-built interactive furniture, a giant mutant raisin bursting out of an iconic Sun-Maid-covered house, and a haunted house experience like no other, this project was a lot of fun to produce and quite a successful part of Merchantville’s annual Halloween celebration, which sees entire blocks transformed for an evening of spooky delights.
